YOGA CLASS STYLE GUIDE & CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Join us at AmaSER for a variety of postural practice styles.

Vinyasa Yoga: Our unique offering of Vinyasa Yoga is offered compassionately with functional movement as a foundation. Vinyasa Yoga is a physically active class which includes seated and standing postures and often a meditation or breath practice at the closing. Vinyasa offers an accessible challenge for all with modifications, variations and precise cueing. Get ready to move! 


Ashtanga Inspired Vinyasa: A heat building vinyasa style practice inspired by the Traditional Ashtanga Discipline. Get ready to be challenged and build. your way into complex poses.


Yin Yoga: Get deep into your connective tissues and stress the joints in a controlled environment in order develop greater mobility, increase range of motion, enhance resilience and flexibility. You'll hold deep postures for 2 to 7 minutes. This is the practice of meditating in shapes. A simple practice, but not an easy one.

Yin Yoga + Sound Healing: All of the great benefits of Yin Yoga plus the sounds and sensations of sound healing bowls being placed on or around you. 


Yoga Nidra: The practice of Yogic Sleep. You'll be guided gently into a hypnogogic state where you can develop and support sankalpa (intention) in your practice and your life. Take gentle movement to settle in and then you'll rest in savasana during the entire guided meditation.


Hatha Yoga: Traditional, recognizable postures offered in an unhurried way and held for several breaths. A great way to get familiar with the yoga shapes (asana) before taking on a faster paced practice. Traditional, but not basic.


Restorative Yoga: Rest and restore your nervous system by getting comfortable and still. Offer your joints and your mind ample support and comfort so that you can reset and move off of the mat feeling relaxed and rested. You'll hold postures for 5 to 20 minutes.


Kundalini Yoga: This style of yoga seeks to activate Kundalini energy that rests at the base of your spine to enhance your awareness. It includes mantras, breathing exercises, mudras, Drishti, and repetitive poses with meditation and or sounds called Kriyas. This is a physically and mentally challenging practice.


Power Yoga: This is an active and demanding Vinyasa style of postural practice. Power Yoga will build strength, flexibility, and stamina in both your body and your mind. You don't need to move fast to build strength and steadiness. Expect to work on muscle building and the development of mental resilience. 


Slow Flow: A sweet and unhurried postural yoga for just gentle heat and lots of space for creative movement and finding your own groove on the mat. A nice relaxation will be the finale of your practice.


Flow + Restore Yoga: A combination class beginning with unhurried movement for landing into your body and your practice. You'll finish the practice with a delish dessert of Restorative poses in order to leave rested, reset, and restored.
